Offices opened in February, 2009 with a warm welcome from local dignitaries.

During mediation, participants discuss areas of disagreement before a trained, neutral mediator, and work towards a resolution that works for each of them. The mediator assists the parties in clarifying issues, exploring options, and crafting agreements. It is a voluntary and confidential process that can be used to prevent further escalation of a conflict, as an alternative to court proceedings, or simply to build understanding and improve relationships.

All services at the Rockland Mediation Center are provided either free of charge or based on a sliding scale.
